Not all Chocolate is Created Equal
Ingredients and shelf life:
Sibú Chocolate is all natural with no added preservatives or trans-fats to prolong shelf life. As with all farm-fresh products, our chocolates are best enjoyed soon after purchase and should not be stored for extended periods of time. If you must delay gratification, keep in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight, ideally between 16° and 23° Celsius.
Practices on the Plantation:
Cacao grows best in the partial shade of larger trees, ensuring a farm habitat more hospitable to birds and other animals. When grown organically, no harmful pesticides or chemicals are used that can seep into the soil and streams. Sibu chocolate is derived from a plantation certified with the Rainforest Alliance, a New York-based nonprofit organization that works with farmers to help conserve wildlife and wild lands, promoting the well-being of workers and their local communities.

Know the Source. Like fine wine and cheese, the origin of chocolate is important. Each region and each cacao farm will produce fruit with different flavor notes and qualities. Our chocolate comes from a small farm on Costa Rica’s Caribbean slope, where beans are grown and fermented under consistent conditions to help achieve greater purity in flavor and better overall quality.
