Private Chocolate Tasting/Lunch at Sibú Chocolate

private tastingA visit to the Sibú Chocolate workshop includes a brief presentation on the history of the cacao crop in Costa Rica and it’s arrival in Europe with emphasis on what the sacred crop means to local indigenous cultures, both in Pre-Columbian and modern times.

During the presentation, visitors are invited to sample chocolate confections and tasting squares made on the premises with 100% organic Costa Rican cacao. Guests will also enjoy a demonstration on how to temper chocolate by hand, as well as glimpse artisan chocolate production.

private tastingThe presentation is followed by lunch in the garden overlooking the Central Valley and Irazu Volcano (weather permitting). Please see the sample menu below. Afternoon tea and coffee service is offered at the workshop and garden, where guests can wander freely in this private mountain setting. We have found that guests especially appreciate this opportunity to venture off the tourist path and into an exclusive setting reserved only for private groups.
